This course introduces students to Information Systems Analysis (ISA) as a way of understanding how digital systems and information technology applications are envisaged, designed, differentiated and governed. Going beyond treating information systems as purely technical artifacts, the course emphasises systems as being socio-technical where the organisational goals, user preferences, stakeholder behaviour, data flows, interface designs, architectures and governance choices matter.

Using a combination of conceptual discussions, experiential in-class games, case analyses, etc. students learn how user expectations, managerial intent and assumptions get translated into information technology requirements in organisational environments.

By the end of the course, students will be equipped to analyse organizational processes and user interactions; design information systems keeping in mind functional and process effectiveness.
